Presentation of the award for editor Piotr Długołęcki in the History Contest of the Minister of Foreign Affairs

On 18 April 2024 the award ceremony took place at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The volume of the Polish Diplomatic Documents series covering 1981 July-December, published by the Polish Institute of International Affairs, was honoured with the third prize in the History Contest of the Minister of Foreign Affairs category "Best Polish-language publication on the history of Polish diplomacy." On the behalf of the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs the award was presented by Henryka Mościcka-Dendys, the Polish Under-Secretary of State within the MFA.

The awarded work was edited by Piotr Długołęcki – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the series.

The volume contains 545 documents on Polish foreign policy in the second half of 1981. It illustrates, among other issues, circumstances related to the activities of the Solidarity Trade Union and the threat of Soviet intervention in Poland while tracing the world's reactions to the introduction of martial law in the country.
