As negotiations on the EU-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) concluded in January 2026, closer economic ties between the European Union and one of the world’s largest economies raise important questions for individual member states. For Poland and Germany, the agreement presents both opportunities and challenges, shaped by their distinct economic roles within European and global markets.

In this context, the discussion will focus on the impact of the EU-India FTA on the Polish and German economies, bringing together national perspectives on trade, investment, and industrial cooperation. Particular attention will be paid to Germany’s role as a leading exporter and Poland’s position as an emerging key subcontractor within European supply chains, as well as to how the agreement may influence these structures at the regional level and what it means in practical terms for businesses and entrepreneurs.

Bringing together experts from Germany and Poland, the roundtable will explore both the strategic and economic dimensions of EU-India cooperation with focus on Polish and German national perspectives.

Beyond its economic emphasis, the discussion aims to foster a long-term dialogue between Poland and Germany on global issues, highlighting the broader potential of bilateral cooperation beyond traditional areas such as security or European integration.

The format is designed to encourage an open and interdisciplinary exchange among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in the future of EU-India relations, especially in terms of their economic and strategic implications for Poland and Germany.
