The focus for this year’s forum was security and defence cooperation. Its objective was to bring together external experts and government officials from both countries to discuss the UK-Poland Security and Defence Treaty, which was announced by Prime Minister Starmer and Prime Minister Tusk in January 2025.
The Belvedere Forum was held in roundtable format and included a small group of Polish and British participants from respective think tank communities, academia, industry, and government. Sessions focused on security in its broadest terms, covering foreign policy, defence, national security, economic security, and energy security.
Marek Prawda, Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Stephen Doughty MP, UK Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories opened this year’s Belvedere Forum.
