17th International Conference of Editors of Diplomatic Documents

The Polish Institute of International Affairs participated in the 17th International Conference of Editors of Diplomatic Documents.

The conference, which took place from 30 to 31 May 2024 in Rome, forms an integral part of the international cooperation of editors of historical diplomatic sources from dozens of countries that has been ongoing for over 30 years.

This year's event brought together editors from 22 countries to share their experience and knowledge of editing and publishing archival documents on foreign policy. During the two-day conference, a variety of topics were covered, ranging from traditional editing methods to the usage of cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence in editorial work.

The conference also provided an opportunity to present internationally the latest volumes published in the Polish Diplomatic Documents series and discuss Confronting the Holocaust, an accompanying edition to the series.

The pre-conference cooperation of the publishers also resulted in the editing of the collection of documents The dissolution of the USSR as seen from world capitals – which also contains the Polish archival material in English translation.
