Expert conference: "30 Years After the Fall of the Berlin Wall: What Happened to Europe Whole and Free?"
30 years ago, the Berlin Wall fell, democracy swept through Eastern Europe, and many in the West dreamt of a united Europe at peace. 2019 also marks the twentieth anniversary of NATO’s first enlargement beyond the Iron Curtain, as well as 15 years since the EU’s Eastern enlargement and NATO’s Big Bang expansion.
